We must speak out against violence

The violence continues and more blood has been shed. ISIS has beheaded two Japanese hostages, Huruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto, and released a video of the Jordanian pilot, Moaz Kasabeh, being burned alive. This self-proclaimed “Islamic State” continues to show the world its cruel and violent ways through these continuous villainous acts.

As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I condemn these terrible acts of violence. The true Islamic solution to address this monstrosity is laid out in the Quran, where it says, “And if two parties of believers fight each other, make peace between them; then if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the party that transgress … .” It is important that we address the problems of ISIS properly.

The Khalifa of Islam, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, stated in an interview with The Los Angeles Times that a United Nations alliance made up of solely Arab troops could properly handle the growing distress in the Middle East. According to the true teachings of Islam, it’s important that we continue to speak out against these atrocities, and offer our prayers and condolences to the families of all the innocent victims.
