Letter to the editor published in the Richmond Times Dispatch on May 31st:
As Ahmadi Muslim, I extend my heartfelt prayers to the British people. In response to the attack in Manchester, an imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association UK went to Manchester to pay tribute to the victims. He was accompanied by 50 other members. Terrorism has no religion and the Quran strongly opposes such actions. Verse 5:33 states: “Whosoever killed a person… It shall be as if he killed all mankind.”
The international Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has been at the forefront of combating extremism since its inception in 1889. The Muslim Writers Guild of America, an auxiliary of the AMYA USA published more than 400 times in American newspaper outlets, presents the peaceful picture of Islam through the power of our pens.
The extremists who perpetrate such acts do Islam no favor, only shaming its name and themselves.
