Recently, an anti-Islam film named Innocence of Muslims sparked violence in Muslim-dominated Libya, which led to the death of the U.S. ambassador to Libya.
The intention of this film is strictly to provoke Muslims and incite rage. Muslims should not take the bait and should respond with civility. They should learn from the example of the Prophet Muhammad himself.
How did he handle all the mockery and hate he received? Simple: He prayed for his opponents.
The Muslims today get angry when their prophet is mocked, but when the prophet himself was mocked in his own time by his own people, his companions never responded with violence, but with prayers and patience. Ironic, isn’t it?
