Attack at school counter to faith

When I heard about the horrific attack on a military school in Peshawar, I was deeply saddened at the progression of Taliban terrorism in Pakistan. But when I heard that they targeted and killed over 130 innocent children, I was speechless. How could anyone who claims membership of my own faith commit such an act of inhumanity? Especially with sayings from the Prophet Muhammad, like, “No gift from a father to his child is better than education.”

And if that wasn’t enough for the Taliban, how did they miss the Qur’anic verse that states, “Whosoever kills an innocent person… it’s as if they killed all of mankind.” Numerous similar verses in the Qur’an condemn such acts of terrorism. As a Muslim American, and a student, I feel deeply regretful that my faith is wrongfully displayed in such a barbaric manner, and continue to pray for the families involved.
