It has been a year since the horrific Boston Marathon bombing, but the wounds are still fresh for all Americans. I would like to extend my condolences to the city of Boston and anyone with loved ones affected by these deplorable acts. Though the Tsarnevs claim to have acted for Islam, I must remind everyone that their actions went against everything for which Islam stands. The holy Quran, the supreme source of guidance for Muslims, states: Whosoever killed a person … it shall be as if he killed all mankind. In response to these bombings, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is remembering the victims of the bombings through blood drives at Boston City Hall. The community has held events like this throughout its history to emphasize Islam’s teachings on the sanctity of life. Lastly, I simply want to wish all participants and spectators a safe and happy Boston Marathon.
